Adorable and Quick DIY Tutorial for Newborn Baby Booties

There's nothing quite as heartwarming as tiny baby booties on a newborn's feet.

Whether you're making them for your own little one or as a gift for a loved one's baby, these booties are the perfect combination of practical and adorable.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to make cute and quick ankle boots for babies aged 0-6 months.

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in three different colors (or any colors of your choice)
  • Crochet hook size 5mm
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Instructions:

Step 1: Begin by making a magic ring and chain 1.

Step 2: Work 10 single crochet stitches into the magic ring, then pull the tail to tighten the ring.

Step 3: Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet stitch to close the round.

Step 4: Chain 1 and work 1 single crochet stitch into the same stitch as the chain.

Step 5: Work 2 single crochet stitches into each stitch around, then join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet stitch to close the round.

Step 6: Chain 1 and work 1 single crochet stitch into the same stitch as the chain.

Step 7: Work 1 single crochet stitch into the next stitch, then 2 single crochet stitches into the next stitch. Repeat this pattern (1 single crochet, 2 single crochet) around, then join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet stitch to close the round.

Step 8: Chain 1 and work 1 single crochet stitch into the same stitch as the chain.

Step 9: Work 1 single crochet stitch into each of the next 2 stitches, then 2 single crochet stitches into the next stitch. Repeat this pattern (1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, 2 single crochet) around, then join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet stitch to close the round.

Step 10: Chain 1 and work 1 single crochet stitch into the same stitch as the chain.

Step 11: Work 1 single crochet stitch into each of the next 3 stitches, then 2 single crochet stitches into the next stitch. Repeat this pattern (1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet, 2 single crochet) around, then join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet stitch to close the round.

Step 12: Chain 1 and work 1 single crochet stitch into the same stitch as the chain.

Step 13: Work 1 single crochet stitch into each stitch around, then join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet stitch to close the round.

Step 14: Repeat Step 12 and 13 for three more rounds.

Step 15: Cut the yarn and weave in the ends with a yarn needle.

Finishing:

To make the cuff of the bootie, attach the second color of yarn to the back of the bootie and work a round of single crochet stitches around.

Repeat this round for three more rounds, then switch to the third color of yarn and work one more round of single crochet stitches. Cut the yarn and weave in the ends with a yarn needle.

Repeat these steps for the second bootie and you'll have a pair of adorable ankle boots for your little one.
