Intarsia Crochet: How to Create Color Blocks without Carrying Yarn

Intarsia crochet is a technique that allows you to create color blocks in your crochet projects without having to carry the yarn.

Instead, each block is worked from a separate ball of yarn, making it an ideal method for working with multiple colors.

With clear step-by-step instructions, you can easily learn how to crochet colored areas using the intarsia technique.

To get started, choose your colors and wind each one into a ball. You'll need one ball for each color block.

Begin by crocheting the first row of your project in the main color.

When you get to the point where you want to add a different color, drop the main color and pick up the new color, leaving a tail of the main color that's long enough to weave in later.

To join the new color, simply loop it over your hook and pull it through the last stitch of the previous row.

Then, work the new color across the row until you get to the end of the color block. When you reach the end of the block, drop the second color and pick up the main color again, leaving a tail of the second color to weave in later.
