How to Crochet Perfect Stripes (2 techniques)

Before diving into the comprehensive video tutorial, it is crucial to grasp the technique of half color changes with a single crochet in order to achieve the perfect piece.

While a vertical seam on the back can be flawlessly executed without them, creating a pristine horizontal line between stripes necessitates familiarity with this technique.

To execute a half color change, you will knit the top of the stitch in one color and the bottom of the stitch in another, enabling you to craft intricate designs on your amigurumi.

Begin by reaching the end of the last H stitch in the previous color (purple in this case), ensuring that the hook is stopped just before pulling the final loop. This positioning should result in having two loops on the hook.

Introduce the new color (green) between the two loops and the connected wire. To establish the proper arrangement, position the index finger of your non-dominant hand between the two colors, ensuring that the second color (green) resides at the bottom.

Proceed to flip it downward, allowing the new color to be on top, and subsequently pull the stitch with the new color.

For a more comprehensive understanding and to discover further techniques, we invite you to watch the instructional video provided below.
