How the Plaid Is Made

The plaid comes from a color graph. Horizontal stripes are made by changing colors between rows, while the thin dark blue vertical lines are worked with small separate balls of yarn, called bobbins, that you carry up the blanket. Tiffany keeps each little ball of dark blue in a zip bag with a clip, so the strands never tangle. That way you only work the dark color where the line is, instead of carrying it across the whole row.
