Growing and Caring for Cymbidium Orchids

Cymbidium orchid plants are among the easiest to grow indoors. Do not treat them like Phalaenopsis orchids, these orchids need more sunlight and cooler temperatures.

Cymbidiums grow clumps of plump, stem-like pseudobulbs that emerge from rhizomes. Long, leathery leaves surround the pseudobulbs, arching outward.

For several weeks in winter or spring, clusters of long-lasting flowers open along the erect stem. The flowers are available in pink, white, red, green, and yellow.

The easiest way to identify Cymbidium flowers is the contrasting 3-lobed center with a spotted lip. Keep scrolling and watch the video tutorial to learn more about beautiful Cymbidium orchids!
