To make a rolled crochet basket, you will need 3/8 ″ tubing filler wire, which is usually wrapped in fabric and sewn into the edges of pillows and sofas.

This wire will serve as the continuous core material for the basket. You will also need a crochet hook and the thin yarn of your choice.

To start, hold the wire and yarn together and make a slip knot. Then, chain 3 and slip stitch to form a ring. Work 6 single crochets (SC) into the ring, and then work 2 SC into each stitch for the next round (12 stitches). Continue this pattern, increasing by 6 stitches each round until you reach your desired size.

Next, you will begin to roll the basket. Fold the bottom up and start to crochet around the wire. As you roll, the wire will provide structure and stability to the basket.

Continue rolling until you reach the desired height of the basket. Then, finish off and weave in the ends. You can also add handles or embellishments if desired.

This rolled crochet basket is a great way to use up your stash of thin yarns and create a practical and stylish storage solution for your projects. Give it a try and see how quick and easy it can be!
