Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit Urbaki Finances (the "Website"), how we use it, who we share it with and the choices and rights you have. The Website shares personal finance, saving and money tips.

1. Who we are

The Website is owned and operated by Urbaki LLC ("Urbaki", "we", "us" or "our"). Urbaki LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Postal address: Urbaki LLC, 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware 19958, United States. You can contact us about privacy at any time at hello@urbaki.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Newsletter: if you subscribe to our emails, your email address and, if you provide it, your first name.
  • Comments: if you leave a comment, the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and browser information (used to help detect spam). An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture there.
  • Messages: if you email us, your email address, name and whatever you choose to include in your message.

Information collected automatically: when you visit the Website, we and our partners automatically collect information about your device and how you use the Website, such as your IP address, approximate location (city or region), browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring website, the date and time of your visit, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Giving us your email address is voluntary; without it we cannot send you the newsletter or publish your comment. We do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing.

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, sensitive information (such as health, financial account or government ID information).

3. How we use your information and our legal bases

  • To run and improve the Website (hosting, security, fixing errors, understanding which content is useful): our legitimate interest in operating a useful and secure website.
  • To measure audiences with analytics: your consent where the law requires it, otherwise our legitimate interest.
  • To show advertising, including interest-based ads, which pay for the free content: your consent where the law requires it (for example, in the EU and UK), otherwise our legitimate interest, always subject to your right to opt out.
  • To send our newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • To publish and moderate comments and to answer your messages: our legitimate interest in running the Website and responding to you.
  • To comply with the law and to protect our rights: our legal obligations and legitimate interests.

4. Advertising

The Website displays advertising managed by Mediavine. Mediavine and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure ad performance. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Mediavine's consent tool before personalized advertising cookies are used. Visitors from U.S. states with applicable privacy laws can use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link shown on the Website to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information for targeted advertising.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tags”) may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising. Each internet browser has functionality so that you can block both first and third-party cookies and clear your browser’s cache. The "help" feature of the menu bar on most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to receive notification of new cookies, how to disable existing cookies and how to clear your browser’s cache. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, you can consult the information at All About Cookies.

Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.

The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

  • IP Address
  • Operating System type
  • Operating System version
  • Device Type
  • Language of the website
  • Web browser type
  • Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices to opt-in or opt-out of this data collection, please visit National Advertising Initiative opt out page. You may also visit Digital Advertising Alliance website and Network Advertising Initiative website to learn more information about interest-based advertising. You may download the AppChoices app at Digital Advertising Alliance’s AppChoices app to opt out in connection with mobile apps, or use the platform controls on your mobile device to opt out.

For specific information about Mediavine Partners, the data each collects and their data collection and privacy policies, please visit Mediavine Partners.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website (for example, which pages are read most). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, device and browser details and pages visited. Google processes this information on our behalf. You can learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

6. Newsletter

Our emails are sent with Flodesk, our email service provider, which stores your subscription details on our behalf. We use your email address only to send you the content and offers you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you by writing to hello@urbaki.com. Flodesk records whether you open our emails and click links, so we can improve them. We never sell or rent our email list.

7. Embedded content, videos and social media

Many posts include embedded videos from YouTube and Pinterest "Save" buttons. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited that website: the provider (for example Google/YouTube or Pinterest) may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with the embedded content. Please read their privacy policies: Google/YouTube and Pinterest.

8. Affiliate links and our shop

Some links on the Website are affiliate links: if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may place cookies to track the referral. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

9. Who we share information with

  • Service providers who help us run the Website and our emails (web hosting, Flodesk, Google Analytics, spam protection), under contracts that limit their use of your data.
  • Advertising partners as described in section 4.
  • Authorities, when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
  • A buyer or successor, if the Website or Urbaki LLC is sold or reorganized.

We do not sell your name or email address for money. Our advertising partners may receive device identifiers and, in some cases, a hashed (encrypted) form of an email address for ad measurement and targeting, which some U.S. state laws treat as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out as explained in sections 4 and 11.

10. International transfers

Urbaki LLC and many of our providers are located in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries whose laws may differ from yours. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

11. Your rights and choices

Everyone can unsubscribe from our emails at any time, block or delete cookies in their browser settings, and use the opt-out tools listed in sections 4 and 5.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time (without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it). Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time, and you can always object to direct marketing and to personalized advertising. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you live in California or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon or New Jersey), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising. In the last 12 months, the categories of personal information collected through the Website were: identifiers (such as IP address, cookie IDs and, if you provided it, email address and name), internet or network activity, approximate geolocation, and inferences drawn for advertising. Sources: you, your device, and our analytics and advertising partners. Purposes: operating and securing the Website, analytics, advertising, newsletters and responding to you. We disclose these categories to our service providers (hosting, email and analytics) and, for advertising, to Mediavine and their partners; disclosures to advertising partners may be a "sale" or "sharing" under California law. Retention periods are described in section 12. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link shown on the Website to visitors from states with applicable laws, or enable a browser opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control. Where the law requires it, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for the browser that sends it. The Website does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because there is no common standard for them. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To make a request, email hello@urbaki.com with the subject "Privacy request". We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent, and if we decline your request you can appeal by replying to our answer. We respond within the time limits set by applicable law.

12. How long we keep information

We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, comments for as long as they are published, and emails for as long as needed to handle your message. Analytics and advertising data is kept for the periods set by the respective providers (Google Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months). We may keep information longer when the law requires it.

13. Children

The Website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your country, which is up to 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. Security

The Website uses an SSL/TLS connection, and we take reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. If we make significant changes, we will update the date and, where appropriate, notify you.
