Growing Dracaena Plants Easily from Cuttings

Popular houseplants are known collectively as Dracaenas actually include several species within the Draceana genus, as well as some plants that are now classified in entirely different genera.

For example, the houseplant sometimes called "ti-tree" is now officially labeled Cordyline australis, although it is still sometimes sold as dracaena.

So when you buy a Dracaena houseplant, you usually buy one of the species characterized by lance (or grass-shaped) leaves that spread from one or more thickened cane-like main stems. There are also other species of Dracaena that grew from rhizome-like roots but are often sold under other names.
