5 Unique LGBTQ+ Events Around The World

It's pride month! We are starting this joyful and meaningful month with a collection of resources completely dedicated to LGBTQ + travelers.

Follow the adventures of a gay writer in Pride around the world; read about a bisexual woman's trip to the Gambia to visit her deeply religious family; and hear from a traveler who disagrees with the genre about unexpected challenges and triumphs on the road.

Then find inspiration for your future travels with our guides to the best LGBTQ + hidden gem attractions in each state, incredible national park locations with LGBTQ + history, and actor Jonathan Bennett's new tourism development.

Regardless of how you browse the resources, we are pleased that you are here with us to celebrate the beauty and importance of inclusion and representation within the travel space and beyond.

Pride events now number in the hundreds around the world, including some truly amazing places due to their small population, remote locations, or close to underground LGBTQ scenes - the Faroe Islands (with only 50,000 inhabitants) celebrate Faroese Pride in July and western South Africa.

The city of Knysna (population less than 77,000) hosts its equivalent of the Sydney Mardi Gras-style Pride in May.

However, there is also a strong international list of more specialized events that are worth adding to your calendar and planning a trip that is not "Pride" in the sense that some of the more popular events are.

From focused on activism to just plain fun, these are some of our favorites.
