How to get to Segovia from Madrid

Segovia is a short day trip from Madrid and can be reached by train or bus.

Segovia is also possible as a day trip from Salamanca, although there are few buses. It is better to go through Ávila.

Where does it go next?

Return to Madrid or Salamanca. Ávila is just one hour by bus from Segovia (both can be done in one day if you don't mind leaving early and coming back late.

El Escorial is also an option: retrace your steps on line C8 of the Cercanía commuter network. and move in Villalba.

Recommended Itinerary

If you are coming by bus to Segovia, don't make the mistake of heading directly to the cathedral (which is on top of a hill and visible from the station).

The closest place of interest is the aqueduct, which is actually signposted from the bus station crossing and is actually just around the corner, along Avenida de Fernández Ladreda (if you come by train, you will have you have to walk to Paseo Conde Sepúlveda until you reach the bus station and then turn right).

Next to the aqueduct, there is an excellent Tourist Office.

Incredibly useful and with great tourist information about the entire Castilla y León region and other areas as well, this is an essential stop and all the more reason to make the aqueduct your first stop as these guys can plan the whole trip for you!

From the aqueduct, go up c/Cervantes, passing the Casa de los Picos, to the Plaza del Corpus Cristi, where the Sinagoga Mayor (Sinagoga Mayor) is located.

From there, it goes to the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral.

Walk through the Cathedral and continue past the Museum of Witchcraft in c/Daoiz until you reach the Alzcázar.

This route is the most efficient way to see the main sights of Segovia if you are in a hurry.

If you decide to take a different tour of the city, take a map and do not pay attention to the signs that direct you from the Plaza Mayor to the Aqueduto; They are driving instructions to guide cars through the one-way system and only complicate things. if you do, you are on foot.
