Dust once a month using a dry method of rubbing both sides of each slat end to end with a microfiber cloth or sock. The best way to thoroughly clean your curtains is to use a wet method once or twice a year.

DIY Cleaning Solution for Window Blinds

To further clean your curtains, you generally only need water to clean your shutters effectively. For a little more cleaning power, put a few drops of mild soap in 1/2 liter of water.

You can also add a few teaspoons of window cleaner to the mixture to help the curtains dry without stains. Always test any cleaning solution in a hidden location first to review the results.

Vacuum the Blinds

Vacuum the curtains with the brush attachment to avoid scratching or denting the shutters. For best results, fully close curtains in one direction to achieve more curtains surface area while vacuuming.
