Explore The Top Caribbean Casino and Gaming Destinations

    1. Aruba

Aruba is where Caribbean Stud Poker was invented. Most of the casinos in Aruba are located in the resort hotel skyscrapers along Palm Beach, but the Alhambra Casino is near the Divi Resort in Eagle Beach, while the Crystal and Seaport casinos are in downtown Oranjestad.

Some of Aruba's casinos are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but generally, the opening hours are 11 a.m. for slot machines and 1 p.m. for table games. The currency is the US dollar. Two of the most spectacular casinos include the largest on the island, the Stellaris Casino at the Aruba Marriott and the exclusive Crystal Casino at the Renaissance Aruba Resort. Other options include the Excelsior Casino at the Holiday Inn Sunspree and the casino at the Riu Resort in Palm Beach.

Friendly reminder, you must be 18 years old to go to the casino in Aruba, as well as most of the Caribbean islands (so if you are traveling with children, please leave them in their room!).

    2. Dominican Republic

The main resorts of Punta Cana and Playa Dorada and La Romana are home to many of the island's casinos. You can bet in pesos or US dollars, and the odds are the same as in Las Vegas. Most casinos are open until the early hours of the morning, at 4 a.m. M. O at 5 p.m. M. A good bet is the Casino Playa Dorada at Allegro Playa Dorada. This hotel has 500 rooms and is close to an 18-hole golf course.

The largest is the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, a more recent addition that has become a major destination for players heading to Punta Cana. It has 40 table games and more than 500 slot machines and video poker. Other top gambling destinations in the area include The Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino in Santo Domingo, but if you're traveling with kids, you might prefer the family-friendly Amhsa Paradise Beach Club & Casino.

    3. Puerto Rico

Most of the casinos in Puerto Rico are located in the best hotels in destinations such as Isla Verde, Carolina, Old San Juan and Condado in San Juan, as well as in more distant destinations such as Dorado, Fajardo, Humacao, Ponce and Mayagüez. Most casinos are open until 4 a.m. or 6 a.m., but some are open 24 hours. The currency is the US dollar.

One of the fancier options is the Ritz-Carlton on the Isla Verde boardwalk. The casino is open 24 hours. You may also want to visit the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino and El Conquistador Resort, whose Golden Door Spa is justifiably known. This property has a casino with a casual Spanish atmosphere.

Puerto Rico also offers live races at the El Comandante Racetrack in Canovanas, west of San Juan.

    4. Bahamas

Casinos in the Bahamas include Atlantis Paradise Island, Crystal Palace Casino at Wyndham Nassau on Cable Beach, and the casino at Grand Lucayan Resort on Grand Bahama Island.

Atlantis offers a variety of rooms and activities, in addition to the 50,000-square-foot casino. The game room is filled with over 1,000 state-of-the-art slot machines and 90 table games, including blackjack, mini-baccarat and baccarat, craps, roulette, Let It Ride, and Caribbean Stud Poker.

Crystal Palace Casino also has over 400 slot machines and around 40 table games.

    5. Antigua y Barbuda

Antigua has half a dozen casinos offering a wide variety of games, including slots, video poker, craps, roulette, blackjack, Let It Ride, three card poker, and Caribbean poker. The newest, Grand Princess Casino, is located near the Jolly Beach Resort and offers sports betting, 250 slot machines, 25 table games, restaurants, and the Liquid nightclub.

Another independent facility, Kings Casino, is located in the capital of St. John's, near the cruise ship pier and duty-free shops. The St. James Club Resort & Villas at Mamora Bay is the place to play in an intimate and sophisticated European-style setting.
