How the Hat Is Made

1. The crown (1:24): start at the top and increase in rounds until the crown is the right size for your baby.
2. Crisscross stitch (4:37): work the textured cross stitch pattern down the sides of the hat.
3. Band (7:42): finish with a single crochet band and join it neatly.
4. The flower (10:19): crochet a layered flower in a contrast color, with a center opening that fits over the button.
5. Button (16:17): sew the wooden button to the side of the hat and slip the flower on.
