5 Ways to Make Your Garden Cozy for Autumn

As the weather begins to cool down in late summer and the leaves perform their glorious color-change dance, you may be thinking: how can I get the most out of my garden in the autumn?
Taking inspiration from the Danish word "hygge", we have 5 tips on how to transform your outdoor space into the perfect and comfortable hideaway to spend time with your friends and family during the fall season. But what is hygge?
There is no exact English translation for Hygge - it is often defined as "cozy", but there is more to it than that. Hygge is a feeling you get when you spend time in a comfortable place with the people you love. It is a feeling of warmth, inner peace, and relaxation.
While it is not the same as "cozy", it is true that cozy things can help improve the feeling. Warm fireplaces, fleece blankets, thick socks, intimate lighting, hot chocolates, tasty snacks ... All of this can help you sanitize and have the people you love around you.

Here are the top 5 tips for cuddling in the fall
1. Find a good place
For starters, it is best to find the right part of your garden that you want to use to make it a cozy space. It could be a corner of a patio or deck area, or if you have an urban garden, like a porch or deck, it could be the entire space.
Clean it and prepare it to decorate. You can even use some Patio Magic! If there is a flat, it needs a little love.
2. Plants and furniture
Time to put in some plants and chairs! A wooden sofa, table, and chairs, or a picnic bench work well to encourage everyone to sit together.
Some large plants that look beautiful in the fall include Rudbeckias, Lilyturf, Dahlias, Michaelmas daisies, purple ornamental cabbage, and mini white cyclamen. Fill the spaces whenever you can with foliage and flowers - this will really help you celebrate the season!
3. Ambient lighting
There are a few different ways to do some lighting - we are really big fans of fairy lights or string lights, you can put long walls, fences, chair backs, and even ropes right above you in the trees.
You can also use flashlights and candles, which really make the area more intimate as the sun goes down.
4. Soft textures
A really part of the cozy experience has to be the fluffy, fluffy blankets. Try to find pillows and fleece textures in soft tones that encourage you to snuggle up with a good cup of hot cocoa.
5. Light the fire
And finally, a fire - this is not always possible for everyone, but there are many different ways to introduce a fire or heat source into your outdoor space.
You can choose from a traditional Cheniere to a built-in brick fire pit, or a gas patio heater, or a smaller metal fire bowl that can sit in the center of a table. Take a trip to the local garden center and see what you can find!
And that should be it - all you need to do now is make the sandwiches, light the fire, invite some friends, and pick up some marshmallows on sticks, and you can enjoy the hygienic and beautiful feeling of fall in your garden.
