DIY Modern Self Watering Concrete Planter

Some of us tend to be forgetful, especially when we have to water our plants. If you are one of them, this DIY is perfect for you (and to keep your plants alive). Evan and Katelyn have recorded a complete video tutorial for their youtube channel to show you how to make a beautiful modern self-regulating planter. Interesting, right?

This pot will be made of two parts: a water reservoir at the bottom and a top point for the plant (psst- the top pot written backward is the top pot!)

There is a hole at the bottom of the top pot with a wick that goes through and a sip of water from the reservoir so that your plant only takes in the small amount of water it needs at any given time. This is especially good for plants that don't require a lot of water, like succulents.

The cutout area on the top pot provides room to put some water in the reservoir and allows you to easily look and see if the water is running low. It's big enough that it takes a while for the plant to use up all the water, so you shouldn't have to check it too often!
