- Select similarly sized agate slices that are larger than the cups or glasses you will use them in. Agate slices vary dramatically in price based on size and color, but some affordable online retailers are Pikes Peak Rock Shop ($ 1 to $ 5 per slice) or Black Market Minerals (set of 4 agate slices for less than $ 20).
- Using a brush, paint the gold foil sticker around the agate slices. For a more affordable option, instead of using gold leaf, you can use less expensive options like gold leaf paint or gold leaf marker. The fine point of the marker or painting with fine point brushes makes it much easier to apply than with gold leaf, and both paint and gold leaf marker usually cost half the price of a gold leaf kit. gold.
