The 5 Best Places in the World to Go Paragliding

The best paragliding sites in the world are breathtaking.

There are a lot of really amazing paragliding spots in the world, and I had a hard time deciding which ones will make the list.

I find it difficult to say which are the best places for paragliding around the world simply because each one has its characteristics and something special about it.

The classification was done randomly... I would love to fly the dunes of the pyla dune as much as I would fly in Ölüdeniz.

Of course, there are many other amazing places to fly a paraglider.

These 5 best paragliding locations are spectacular, unique, and considered the best in the world!

1. Iquique, Chile

A completely different South American paragliding experience to Mendoza, the coastal city of Iquique in northern Chile is an amazing place to experience paragliding as it is close to the seemingly endless dunes of the Atacama desert.

Conditions are reliable here too, thanks to generally stable winds.

Also, the risk of rain disrupting your paragliding plans is very small, as the Atacama Desert is one of the driest places in the world.

2. Lima, Peru

No visit to Lima would be complete without a visit to the cliffs of Miraflores, and travelers who want to make the most of the views can paraglide over them.

While the appeal of many paragliding experiences around the world is the natural landscape, in Lima everything revolves around the urban landscapes that stretch along the coast.

The flights usually leave the Raimondi park and land on the beach.

3. Makapu'u Cliffs, Hawaii

At the eastern end of the island of Oahu in Hawaii, the Makapu'u Cliffs, with their forests and undulations, have been called a paragliding paradise.

Distance records have been set here, as the northeast trade winds provide good paragliding and hang gliding conditions.

In addition to the cliffs, airmen can enjoy views of the white sand beaches, blue seas, the lighthouse at Makapu'u Point below, and the islands and volcanoes of Hawaii beyond.

Although there is only one main landing point in Makapu'u (aside from the road), there are a few different take-off points.

4. Sun Valley, Idaho

Sun Valley in Idaho, north of Twin Falls, is considered one of the best paragliding spots in the world, not to mention the US In winter, Sun Valley Resort is full of snow bunnies, while paragliding (and hang gliding) is more pleasant in warmer temperatures.

The updrafts from the desert and mountains create good conditions for hour-long flights, although newcomers to a tandem flight may opt for something shorter.

Mountain views are the main attraction here.

5. Hatcher Pass, Alaska

With a large number of paragliding schools throughout the state, Alaska is an ideal place to learn adventure sports.

One of the best places to paraglide in the huge state is Hatcher Pass, northeast of Wasilla and a 90-minute drive from Anchorage.

Hatcher Pass is located in the Talkeetna Mountains, between the towns of Willow and Palmer.

In addition to the beautiful landscape of mountains and forests, watch the wildflowers below and the eagles soaring in the sky.

The hot season here is short, as the mountains receive some of Alaska's first snow.
