How to Dry and Storage Garden Beans

Bean fans will know that there is a golden rule when it comes to farming: keep harvesting the pods if you want to keep harvesting more!
The reason for this oft-cited advice is that if pods are allowed to mature to produce viable seeds, the plant will think it has done its job and will stop forming new pods. How frustrating, then, to return from summer vacation only to discover a row of overripe pods and the death knell for your ambitions for pods galore.
So for those of you who only need to turn your back for a few days to find stubbornly heartless vines, this one is for you. Beans grown for drying can be planted and forgotten about (except for the usual watering and weeding, of course!). All the beans are harvested at once at the end of the growing season when a successful round of husking, drying, and canning takes place.
