DIY Self-Watering Raised Planter Bed (Sub-irrigation system)

Who doesn't love growing fresh greens, tomatoes, and herbs for salads? Unfortunately, growing vegetables during the height of summer require daily watering, which can quickly become a problem when you go on vacation.

But it turns out there's a better way to beat the heat and keep your plants watered on a routine basis: self-watering pots, which can leave you without water for a week. The secret to self-watering planters is the perforated drain pipe.

This is a perfectly self-supporting, self-supporting irrigation system (also known as a sub-irrigation system) - no need to open drip lines and find a water source. You only need to fill it every few months!

In this article, you'll see an amazing video tutorial by Anika from Anika's DIY Life that will show you how to build your own self-watering raised beds.
