How to Style Plants in Your Bedroom

Add some botanical magic to your room with plants, potted succulents, and creeping foliage. Plants are a great solution for those hard-to-mold corners, adding texture, shape, and pattern instantly.

As you build your indoor jungle, the online houseplant experts Leaf Envy have shared some creative advice on bedroom plant styles, as well as which plants are the best to choose.

“Sleeping, relaxing, reading, writing, whatever, we spend a lot of time in our rooms, so it's important to make them feel like they're in a relaxing and peaceful environment,” says Leaf Envy.

"Using indoor plants in your bedroom is a way to bring vitality and nature to your relaxation area."

Take a look at the tips below...

1. Style around your bed

Add lush tropical foliage to your room with a selection of beautiful plants like Calathea Orbifolia or Kentia Palm. In addition to cleaning the air and increasing oxygen levels for a good night's sleep, they will instantly energize your space.

"Your bed is likely to be the centerpiece of your bedroom and can be easily renovated by surrounding it with plants so you can wake up next to them every day," says Beth Chapman, Founder of Leaf Envy.

'Not only will grouping the plants around your bed bring attention to this part of your room, but it will also purify the air around you.'

2. Don't forget to hang plants

Hanging plants are perfect for the bedroom, so why not get creative by playing with creeping varieties like Golden Pothos? If you don't have a place to hang them, Beth recommends creating a plant shelf above the bed frame or on a sidewall.

Just as beautiful, we couldn't imagine anything better than waking up to a beautiful display of greenery.

“There's a lot to choose from, so why not mix up some land plants and get creative with placing them?” Adds Beth.

"We recommend pairing short plants with other tall plants placed on a shelf to create variations in the height, texture, and shape of the leaves."

3. Let the light in

Many plants thrive in bright environments, so place them near a window.

Depending on the size of the windowsill, choose plants that like direct or indirect light, such as cacti and Chinese money plants.

If you only have a small space, smaller cacti and succulents will work too.

4. Make a statement

If space allows, larger plants are a great way to make a powerful statement in your room.

Some attractive species to choose from include the large Kentia palm, Monstera Deliciosa, Bird of Paradise, or Fiddle Leaf Fig, along with an elegant planter.

As well as adding a focal point to your room, this is a great way to add intrigue, especially if you prefer a more minimalist feel.
